Curating A Beautiful Life

Curating A Beautiful Life

Even when it’s wet…
I’m outside.

And honestly, I think that’s good.

It’s so easy to stay indoors when the weather turns cold, grey, and miserable.

To sit inside too long.
To stop moving.
To lose little pieces of ourselves without even noticing.

But now…

I have purpose waiting for me outside.

Plants calling for my attention.
Herbs needing to be picked.
Roses unfolding quietly, whether the weather is perfect or not.

And somewhere along the way, I realised something important.

I think we have to curate our lives a little.

We have to make them work for us.

No one else can really do that for us.

I need fresh air.
I need movement.
I need sunlight on my skin.

I need to feel connected to something real.

And strangely enough…

it’s the small things that bring me back to myself.

Picking herbs from little pots just outside the door for dinner.

Stepping into the garden first thing in the morning.

Getting caught in light rain while checking the roses.

My girls laugh and call me Snow White because wherever I go outside, there’s usually a little trail of animals following behind me.

And honestly… they’re probably right.

But I think what I’ve discovered most is this:

Life can so easily become only about the grind.

Work more.
Earn more.
Rush more.

And before you know it, your health, your peace, and your joy quietly slip down the list.

I don’t want that kind of life anymore.

And I don’t want it for my daughters either.

I want them to see that a beautiful life isn’t built only through hard work…

but through intention.

Through looking after yourself.

Through creating a life that feels good to wake up to.

And the beautiful thing is…

they already are.

I see them choosing experiences.
Adventure.
Creativity.
Connection.

Not just chasing the grind…
but seeking out what truly makes them happy.

Looking after their health.
Living fully.

And as a mother, there’s something really wonderful in that.

Because children don’t only listen to what we say.

They watch how we live.

So even when it’s cold…
even when it’s wet…

I’ll still be outside.

Curating my beautiful little life.
